Residing in Menands, NY, Steve is a proud father of two boys, and an active member of the community. As a three sport athlete in high school and into college, he was always seeking ways to remain competitive. In the fall of 2010, Steve decided to sign up for a local duathlon. So he borrowed a mountain bike, and he had no clue what a timing chip was or how to put one on! Steve ran, biked and ran again… And he immediately wanted more. He began entering any and every race he could!
The following year, the sport of triathlon found Steve! “And I owe it all to my Ironman sister in law. She entered me in the 2011 Nautica NYC Triathlon, an Olympic distance race, and so I figured, sure why not TRI?!” After finishing the race, Steve was hooked. He asked himself, what’s next? And again he signed up for the next event he could find!
In 2012 Steve committed himself to the sport, racing several sprints & returning to the NYC Triathlon. Steve qualified for Boston at the 2014 Mohawk Hudson marathon with a time 3:10! In addition to training for the 2016 Boston Marathon, Steve is also training for the Big George 70.3 in August!
